Mining is a core gathering skill in OSRS. From copper at level 1 to amethyst at 92, the training loop is click rock, wait, bank or drop, repeat. The Motherlode Mine adds variety but the core gameplay stays the same.
Why Bot Mining?
Mining is slow, especially at lower levels. Getting to level 85 for runite mining or 92 for amethyst takes a serious time commitment. A mining bot handles the rock clicking, ore banking, and gem collection automatically. For ironmen, mining is essential for crafting and smithing supplies.
What to Look For
Power mining (mining and dropping) is the fastest XP but produces no resources. Motherlode Mine is more AFK and produces ores plus nuggets for the coal bag and prospector outfit. Iron ore power mining at 3-tick rates gives the best XP per hour if the script supports it.
