Beginning Programming

Do you have any idea what kind of programming language you want to start with?

A good starting point is grabbing something called an IDE (integrated development environment), which is basically a fancy text editor with a bunch of programming-focused integrations and features.

For that I recommend IntelliJ IDEA, which has plugins to support development in a bunch of different programming languages.

You can find it here: https://www.jetbrains.com/idea/

Beyond that, having an idea of something you want to build is a good start. It will help keep you motivated if you have a larger purpose - just following tutorials gets old really quickly.

No, not entirely this is going to be a hobby, I don't really find enjoy in playing the game anymore but have interest in learning to code regardless and cmon you cant really stay away from rs.

Do all the languages work coding into osrs or is there specific ones to use?

I've got that, I used that months ago to program a chicken script from chris, is it possible to run that on this client?

The 'standard' language for scripts would be Java.

Our API is backwards compatible with the PowerBot/RSBot scripts.

If you are considering to start programing you can start at https://www.jetbrains.com/academy
Like @Claire Lovely said the Java track would be recommended. There is plenty of project to start with that range from easy to hard.
The platform as a "free trial" and after the trial there would be a monthly fee of 49.90$/month or 249.00$/year.
You can also just recreate an account at the price of losing your progression.
